We started Minhas because Canadian contractors were paying too much for fasteners — two layers of distribution markup for a nail. There had to be a better way.
Minhas Building Materials & Fasteners was founded with a single purpose: bring factory-direct pricing to the Canadian contractor market. The traditional distribution chain adds margin at every step — importer, national distributor, regional distributor, dealer. By the time a box of nails reaches a job site, it's priced for convenience, not value.
We went direct. Our relationships with Chinese manufacturers let us source fasteners and building hardware at the production level — the same factories that supply major North American brands. Those savings go straight to our customers, not into distribution overhead.
From our Calgary warehouse, we serve local contractors with same-day delivery (call before 5 PM) or warehouse pickup. For larger accounts across Canada, we offer container-direct fulfillment — product ships from the factory to your site or warehouse, no Canadian middleman required.

A brother-and-sister team who built the fastener supplier they wished they'd had on the job.
Karan Minhas
Co-Founder
Karan spent 4+ years on the tools as a journeyman apprentice — so he knows firsthand what it costs a crew when a pallet shows up late or the wrong spec lands on site. A lifelong builder, he flew to China in 2024 to vet manufacturers face-to-face and lock in the most reliable, best-priced suppliers of fasteners and building materials. He built Minhas to be the supplier he always wished he'd had on the job: factory-direct pricing, real stock, and someone who speaks contractor.
Bhavika co-founded Minhas to bring factory-direct pricing to Canadian contractors — and she runs the business side that makes it happen, building the retail and distribution partnerships that move product. She came in built for it: three years as a Calgary real estate agent, where relationships and trust close every deal, followed by B2B sales and marketing. She's why customers get a straight answer, fair pricing, and a partner who actually follows through.
